We thought the two Titans would look great together for a final photo. I'm pleased you managed to get a photo of our T961......Tom and Phil :)

Knowing one of the owners of T1030 and yourself Tom I thought I would not miss the opportunity to take a picture of the two together. A great pair of Titans. Would be nice if M57 and M6 would go for a photoshot but M6 was at the museum. Perhaps the people at the museum may consider getting a T to preserve.

Bob indeed is a great character and a great host to my day. A very friendly chap who made my day at Cobham as did the team at London General. We took some shots of RML887 in her pride as I set home.

Terry - you may be interested in the following description of my Leyland Atlantean now shown on your website - Graham Mitchell KBMT. KEIGHLEY CORPORATION TRAMWAYS 59 WJY 758 Leyland Atlantean MCW H44/31F 1962 WJY 758 was new as number 158 to Plymouth City Transport in 1962 in that city’s standard deep red livery. After 13 years in normal stage carriage service it was converted in 1975 to a summer service open-topper in yellow & white livery. It also ran for a while in an overall advert livery for “Plymouth Sound” radio station and saw occasional service on Dockyard Specials during the acute vehicle shortages of 1978. In 1991, Guide Friday took over the operation of the Plymouth City Tour and 458 (as re-numbered in 1980) was sold to Shoreline Suncruisers of Scarborough for their sea front service, subsequently serving in Whitby and finally on the York City Tour before fetching up at Ebor Trucks in Acaster Malbis, detained due to unpaid repair bills. An inspection revealed that 458 had recently had the upper deck floor replaced and resealed, a 680 engine and gearbox from an AN68 had supplanted the original 600 and the body and suspension was remarkably rattle-free so 458 was purchased by Graham Mitchell in September 2003 and became part of the collection of the Keighley Bus Museum Trust. With the considerable assistance of many KBMT Members, work quickly commenced on stripping off the multi-layers of external paint and removing the upper deck seating and the redundant PA system, which surprisingly revealed a complete set of Plymouth blinds hidden under the plated-over destination box ! The internal specification consisted largely of painted steel and vinyl seating – unlovely but hard wearing, so there was nothing too daunting in the restoration department. As the owner is a Keighley Town Councillor, the bus has been repainted in the burgundy & cream livery of the former Keighley Corporation Tramways (1901 to 1932) with the Borough Arms at front and sides. The between-decks strapline “OMNIBUS SERVICES” was introduced on all Corporation motor buses in 1925 by General Manager Ronald A. Fearnley, together with K.C.T red-lettered number and destination blinds at a time of very considerable competition from “pirate” bus operators. KCT 59 is the only operational bus anywhere to carry this historic livery. The owner’s logic is that if the Corporation (as an operator of Leyland Lions, Lionesses & Titans) had not sold out to the West Yorkshire Road Car Company in 1932, it would eventually have purchased Atlanteans. And why Fleet No. 59 ? Because the very last motor-bus purchased by Keighley Corporation in August 1932 was No. 58, a Leyland Titan TD2.

Wasn't one of these used in the crash scene on Holiday On the Buses. I think it must be a Western National because of the the Gibbus Brewery advert on the side. My website is www.inspectorblakey.fotopic.net

Yes, Scott. FTT704 is definitely Western National.

Many times I hear in the bus cab a call from centrecom regarding the man in a wheelchair causing a danger. Is this the famous 'Kamakaze wheelchair User' of Mare Street come down to worthing!! he he!!

With the current state of Worthing's fleet and maintenance this would square up to the Darts and Tridents that are present. Beware of 17066 (T699 KVX), I was on board it when it burst into flames on the 12. Funny that?? The London United Trident that burst into flames probably had the same fault!!! Maybe that was the old biffa who nearly got mowed down by RTL1427 on the 31s????

Nice photo Terry, I'm the conductor on this service. Alan Smith from south Wales was the stand in driver after the rostered driver went sick. If I'd known you were taking the picture, I'd have got Alan to shut the door! Regards Dave Moore

Dear Terry, Terrific photograph of our bus. She actually looks quite clean! 863 resides in a cow shed. Great in summer as the cows are in the fields, but in winter, we share the premise! One cow has taken a regular delight of trying to relieve us of our packed lunches when we are there. We remember you standing on the roundabout as we left for New Cheriton, wasn't it a geat day. If we could acquire from you a copy of your photograph, that would be great. Please let us know, address details and amount. Best wishes Sally & Don
